Powerful in built Code Editor!
JWT Authentication
Create API Code for SPA real fast
Built on top of Laravel 6.0
Totally unobtrusive. Version control and develop your app just like you do with vanilla Laravel installation! NO BLOATWARE whatsoever.
Generate CRUD following latest Laravel standards.
Namespace support!
Built in Search and Pagination in CRUD. You can specify which fields are searchable.
Image/File upload mechanism in built.
Role/Permission (ACL) and User Management System (UMS) in built.
Model to Model relationship building.
Run all Laravel Commands from GUI.
REDPRINT mode to ensure the system leaves no footprint on production application.
Super fast and optimized!
For repetative tasks like creating a CRUD, you can totally rely on Redprint App Builder. It generates high quality Code to generate your everyday create, read, update, delete interfaces and backend. Redprint App Builder closely follows Laravel best practices. Which means, no garbage code. You’ll fall in love once you take a look at the code! We promise!
The new version ( >1.5.6) can now generate API endpoints for external mobile apps to consume using JWT (JSON web token) ! Or your next SPA web app using Vue JS/React/Angular can consume the API generated by Redprint!
Redprint has its own in built IDE! We know you still need to write your business logic on your own. What about having a complete IDE with syntax highlighting and auto completion enabled right inside the app? It can come extremely handy when you’re a digital nomad and need to change a piece of code without leaving the comfort of your browser. Redprint IDE comes with a file browser and quick file search too! You’ll LOVE it!
With Redprint App Builder, you can tell the system to automatically generate your search system with the CRUD. Again, the code that gets genrated is of high quality and follows DRY. Have a look at the index method.
With a few clicks, you can generate relations between two models. Not only that, it creates the dropdowns on a previously created CRUD that is related! For example, if you are creating a “Has Many” relationship between “Category” and “Products”, your products CRUD form will now “automagically” have a dropdown to select Categories!
How cool is that?
You can now run native Laravel commands from within Redprint! No need to remember all the commands, just go to build-tools, select the command you want to execute, write down the parameter and hit run! Not only that, Redprint already added a command that’s not even in Laravel yet! with `php artisan make:view your_view_name` Redprint will generate a view with basic layout for you!
Redprint comes packed with its own Role Permission Package called “Permissible”. Permissible allows you to define user roles and permission with a weight based role system!
Redprint has its own user management system that comes with Permissible. You can already create, update, delete users, set their permission/roles etc. Gives you a strong boilerplate to quickly start your next project!
Redprint AB is committed to grow and become more powerful. Make your apps more robust and count on Redprint to help you along the way.

5 Trending PHP Frameworks To Develop Robust Websites
New Post has been published on http://www.betacompression.com/5-php-frameworks-develop-robust-websites/
5 Trending PHP Frameworks To Develop Robust Websites
Before I start discussing the best frameworks that can be used to build a robust website, let us know what PHP is? PHP is prominently chosen for being the best & simple server-side scripting language. PHP frameworks were developed to support the developers with numerous built-in modules & a structure to make development process smooth & make it feel like breeze.
Frameworks improved the reliability & consistency with time savvy development. Moreover, frameworks also play an important role in making the feature enhancement tasks easy. Developers are ought to follow coding standards & guidelines for clean & commented coding which leads to stabilize the development process.
PHP frameworks are backed up with MVC architecture which keeps all the parts of development process independent of each other. That is, business logic, presentation logic & database logic all are handled & programmed independently. This helps ease the development as the business logic developer need not concern about the development of presentation & vice versa.
It helps the developer to focus on specific modules without worrying about other modules getting affected. This architecture not just brings focus & simplicity but also reduces development time.
Moreover, it brings stability & improves the quality of the final product.

Advantages of using frameworks:
1. Supports Rapid Application Development 2. Simple & Easy upgrade 3. Better Maintenance 4. Community Support 5. Security Features 6. Time savvy 7. Flexible scalability
Coming to the frameworks I have taken top 5 in-trend frameworks of PHP that can be used to develop a robust website in PHP. And the report is generated from Google Trends which depicts these trending PHP frameworks in past 12 months.
Google Trends Report
As you can see I have taken 5 frameworks to compare their demand & trends in past 12 months. Check out the list of Frameworks that can be used to develop a robust website in PHP:
1. Zend PHP Framework 2. Laravel PHP Framework 3. Symfony PHP Framework 4. CakePHP PHP Framework 5. Yii PHP Framework
Clearly, we can see that Zend Framework is in trend in last six months & stands above all the frameworks which we are going to discuss here.
Zend Framework
Zend Framework was launched in 2006 & licensed by New BSD. It is a collection of PHP packages used by developers to ease the development. Zend became so popular and reliable that developers & users installed it more than more than 176 million times. To develop web apps & services you will need to use PHP 5.6+ and it serves a 100% object-oriented code using an extensive set of language features.
The main features of Zend Framework are that it has a package dependency manager referred to as the Composer. In order to perform package testing, Zend has a PHPUnit and for Continuous Integration service, Zend has Travis CI. Like each framework has coding standards & guidelines Zend follows PHP-FIG standards, and for HTTP message interfaces Zend has an implementation of PSR-7.
Zend Framework 3 has evolved from Zend Framework 2 and Zend Framework 1; progressively which runs on PHP 7. The previous versions of Zend Framework witnessed around 15 million downloads. Zend, a Rogue Wave company is the main sponsor of Zend Framework. Apart from Zend, many others have contributed for features and components of this framework. Big brands such as Microsoft, Google and StrikeIron have partnered with Zend.

Zend’s prominent projects:
1. BBC 2. BNO PARIBAS 3. Cisci Webex
Zend Framework supports many features such as end-to-end encryption, package dependency manager & continuous integration service.
Laravel Framework
Laravel was first launched in 2011 and till 2015, according to Sitepoint’s survey Laravel framework was on top among the PHP frameworks existed then. No doubt, Laravel got all attention & support very quick but with time we can see Zend & Symfony has survived and maintained its position among the PHP developers.
With the Launch of Laravel 5.5 which got released on August 30, 2017, I being a PHP Developer got inclined a bit towards Laravel Framework. As it is more stable and has been released as LTS (Long-term Support). That is why many IT companies have started providing Laravel Development services.
Laravel’s prominent projects:
1. Deltanet Travel 2. World Walking 3. FusionInvoice 4. Asgard CMS
MVC architecture is the strongest feature of Laravel Framework. There are many more features such as database agnostic migration, authentication facilities, schema builder, a toolkit that includes ORM queue library routing methods & more. This makes the development process a breeze for Laravel Developers.
Symfony Framework
Symfony is an old framework, it is considered as the stable base for recently launched frameworks including Laravel Framework. Basically, Symfony was created for enterprise-level robust web applications. It facilitates the user to develop scalable & high-performance applications. Symfony supports Rapid Application Development (RAD) for development with the help of its extensive set of modules.
Symfony is easy to install, is compatible with most of the databases & supports easy 3rd party integration. Moreover, has a very small overhead which results in more benefits than the cost incurred in hosting it.
SYMFONY’s prominent projects:
1. Drupal 2. Laravel 3. phpBB 4. OR CRM
Symfony provides YAML, Event Dispatcher, Dependency Injector & Templating Engine.
Read Also:Â 4 data loaders that make movement of data effortless
CakePHP Framework
CakePHP also provides rapid development of applications. It uses general design patterns such as Front Controller, Association Data Mapping, MVC & more.
CakePHP facilitates developers with the least applicable codes and rapid project building, which leads to reducing the cost of development.
CakePHP’s prominent projects:
1. BMW 2. Blendtec 3. Billabong 4. Express
Apart from the above-discussed features CakePHP also supports CRUD scaffolding, requires almost no specific configuration, and has built-in validation & more.
Yii Framework
Yii framework was Launched in 2008, Yii was made secure, quick & high-performance web application development framework. People in business find it highly attractive & valuable. Yii provides powerful caching support, acute security & professional approach in the development process.
Yii makes use of the Composer Dependency manager for PHP for the purpose of handling distinct dependencies and installations. Though all frameworks, be it Zend, Symfony, Laravel, CakePHP or any other, Yii happens to the fastest PHP framework as it is powered by the lazy loading technique. Alike Symfony, Yii makes use of built-in components to facilitate rapid application development.
With the release of Yii 2, it is being considered as the best framework by some of the PHP developers. Yii 2 supports PHP 5.3 and there are functionalities which have been inherited from Yii 1.1. Moreover, it provides high-level extensibility with acute security & proper testing.
Conclusion
There are two ways of doing any work: hard way & smart way. I will say if you are smart enough then you would choose a framework for the development of any project.
Framework enforces a structured development process & provides built-in modules to develop applications. Development using frameworks is not just easy but it also saves time and feature enhancement is carried out with ease.
Above are the numerous reasons you should choose to develop using frameworks for stable & robust development. Though Zend Framework is doing great in the search results I will suggest Laravel Framework to the developers if any developer wishes to learn or start to code in PHP language.
You should always do rigorous research before taking any decision upon opting for a framework for your next project or learning purpose. So these are the top frameworks of 2017 to be used to develop a robust PHP website or application.
Thanks for reading!

A Recap of the 2017 CWP User Group
This year was the 11th Annual CWP User Group at FileMaker DevCon. We had a full house,Â

although unfortunately the room was long and narrow, so people in the back couldn't see the small screen very well. Please include a comment about the room when you rate the meeting via DevCon2Go or the web page.
Once again we had five people come up and share with the group. (Please consider sharing something next year! Just let me know (early enough) and I'll block out a slot for you!)
Joel Shapiro @jsfmp (yours truly) - details below…
Steve Winter @steveWinterNZ Â talked about a Doctrine driver that's used for DB abstraction with things like Laravel & Symphony:Â https://msdev.co.uk/filemaker-cwp-symfony-doctrine
Mark DeNyse @mdenyse showed some of an iOS app that he built with the FileMaker iOS SDK that communicates with FileMaker Server only via CWP.
Ken d’Oronzio @kdoronzio showed us the "fmREST" PHP class that he's created for working with the Data API through PHP. It's FREE :) and available at: https://www.sosimplesoftware.com/fmrest.php
Gjermund Thorsen ggt667Â gave us a taste of his CRUUx for CRUD - a mixture of FM DATA API, CWP, and REST API: here and here
In case you couldn't tell, I'm not much of a note-taker, so if you want more details from any of the other presenters, please contact them directly ;-)
My turn…
I started by sharing the sad news that longtime FileMaker and Web developer, Tim 'Webko' Booth, died of cancer on July 2. He was 46 years old. He'd actually been planning on coming to this year's DevCon for his first time after working with FileMaker for 20 years, but in April he wrote to the FX.php list that he'd been diagnosed with kidney cancer. He'd been very active on a number of FileMaker and web lists and forums, for many many years. I was able to find — in an archive of the old usenet comp.databases.filemaker — an interaction I'd had with Webko in 2000 (17 yrs ago!) in which he'd helped me with some CDML, and I know that many other CWP developers had similar experiences. It's a big loss to the FileMaker/CWP community, as well as of course to his family and friends back in Australia.

Cross-browser testing
I then talked briefly about doing cross-browser testing through sites like BrowserStack and CrossBrowserTesting, and how you can use CrossBrowserTesting for FREE for small(-ish) components of your websites if you put those parts into a "pen" on CodePen — as long as you have an account on each site (free accounts are fine). I use this for testing things like new animations or components that I know may not be fully compatible with older browsers or OSes. And did I mention it’s FREE?

File sync
Next, I showed a quick demo of my favorite file-sync tool: Forklift. I use git (via Git Tower) for file versioning, but for syncing my development sites up to my clients' production servers, I use Forklift to create what it calls "synclets". These are little apps that perform each sync… without Forklift having to be open! Just have the remote directory open on your computer (e.g. via “Connect to Server…”) and double-click the synclet. As simple as that! NOTE: This is with Forklift 2. Forklift 3 has just come out and it has a similar, if differently named, feature.
So, if you don’t love the way you currently do file sync, you might want to check out Forklift.
What’s the future of CWP (XML & PHP)?
After this we looked at the current state of CWP, specifically XML- and PHP-based CWP. As we all know, FileMaker Inc. is now pushing their new Data API as "the way to go"* for connecting to FileMaker Server. Of course it's still in beta through Sept. 2018 and we don't yet know how they'll price its use (which makes it pretty difficult for us to plan new projects), but the days of XML- & PHP-based CWP are clearly numbered. In fact, I was surprised by how many people throughout DevCon, including one of the top engineers at FMI, believed that CWP is already deprecated, even though it officially is not.
*At the "Under the Hood: FileMaker Data API" session, someone in the audience innocently asked what the advantages are of using the Data API instead of PHP/XML in the example they’d demoed, especially since the code shown was quite complex, using Node.js and pug.js. When he didn't get a straightforward answer, he asked if it was perhaps because the Data API was faster. One of the presenters responded that it was because "the Data API is the way to go"(!)
Changes to CWP support with FM 16
I pointed out a recent discovery that FM 16 has dropped CWP support for Get (TemporaryPath) & Send Mail [with Attachments]. These weren't announced in any release notes although they were noted in the Help docs. Fortunately, Andrew Duncan found that you can use PSOS to regain access via CWP.
As a follow-up, FMI has since clarified that this new incompatibility is due to changes made to FMS 16: “Web clients (WebDirect, XML, & PHP) and FM Data API calls can no longer directly access files that are on the server (DBS) or worker (WPE) host file systems via scripting.”
Our options…
I then showed this table of the current options we have for doing CWP:
The first five options — FileMaker PHP API, FX.php, RESTfm, fmxj.js and the new FM PHP API “rewrite” (see below) — are all dependent upon the survival of the XML Web Publishing Engine. When that goes away, all sites using any of these options will either need to change to the Data API or stop upgrading FMServer once the XML WPE is dropped.
Support for PHP 7.x
Separate from the issue of how long we’ll be able to use the current WPE, the FM PHP API cannot be used with PHP higher than 5.6, so for anyone needing to use a more-recent version of PHP, we need an alternative. Two months ago, Romain Dunand (@airmoi) of 1-more-thing released a “rewrite” of the FM PHP API on github (which they blogged about at “No, the FileMaker API-PHP is not dead!”). When I found out about this, I wanted to see how easy it would be to switch a site from the FM API to this new rewrite. I was happy how smooth the transition was and so I did a demo for the group (details below).Â
As soon as I finished the demo, two other options came out. Our own Steve Winter told us that he’s modified FileMaker.php to support PHP 7.x and he’s made it available at: https://github.com/matatirosolutions/filemakerapi. All you’d need to do is swap out his modified file with the original FileMaker.php file and you’ll be compatible with PHP 7.x. (Someone else commented that there’s a command-line change he’d made to make the FM API compatible with PHP 7.x, but he didn’t have a reference to give us.)
The FileMaker PHP API Rewrite
Romain’s rewrite has a number of features that are not in the original API (all listed on its github page), such as new error-handling, but what had most interested me was its support for PHP 7.x and seeing how easy it was to switch an existing site from the FM API.
First, you need to place the rewrite folder on your web server (I named it “api-rewrite”) and then, instead of calling 'FileMaker.php' you call 'api-rewrite/autoloader.php'.
You’ll then need to add:
$fm->setProperty('errorHandling', 'default')
(unless you want to change all your existing calls to the API).
And then you need to place these two lines onto every page that calls FileMaker:
use airmoi\FileMaker\FileMaker;
use airmoi\FileMaker\FileMakerException;
which namespaces the FM API within the rewrite.
With those few changes, your site will now work fine on PHP 7.x.Â
Or, as noted above, if all you need to do is make your FM API site compatible on PHP 7.x, you could just replace the original FileMaker.php with the one that Steve has modified.
My 15 minutes…
Well, that pretty much took up my time at the group… But for anyone who couldn't read the screen during my intro, when I shared that I'd won Second Place(!) in a national magazine's weekly contest just three days before our meeting, here are the details on that:
The Week magazine has a contest every week. On July 21, 2017, they announced the winners of the previous week’s contest. I won Second Place (ahem):
The Question: “A report from a national veterinary chain revealed that one in three American house pets is obese because of lack of exercise, overfeeding, and owners who "use treats as a form of communication." If an entrepreneur were to launch a Weight Watchers-style program for pets, what could it be called?”
SECOND PLACE: “Rovereaters Anonymous” Joel Shapiro, San Francisco
